High Five!

This week’s South Side Elementary High Five goes to Mrs. Ashley Strack. Ashley is a high energy third grade teacher with a strong drive toward building relationships with her students. Ashley connects with her students past and present and builds relationships that help foster a rich academic environment. When visiting her classroom, you will immediately notice how students are engaged and motivated to reach their own learning goals. Ashley is passionate about teaching students to become independent learners through her rotation style classroom environment. It is not uncommon for students to be working on STEM projects, working with the teacher, fine tuning academic skills, as well as learning new grade level standards. Her day does not end when the students board the bus, as she is also one of the student council representatives for South Side. She leads students and activities such as VIP dance, humane shelter drive, Salvation Army bell ringing, as well as school service projects. This year she stepped up to lead and implement our new school-wide PBIS initiative. Due to her guidance our school culture and character development has flourished. She also volunteers in after school STEM club and family STEM nights. Thank you, Ashley, for all that you do for South Side Elementary!
